if anyone upgraded his ml 1640 to latest firmware from samsung.com website so dont be worry i have the solution download software from  http://adf.ly/Mkfti   if this software helps you just give comment of thanks if you have any problem tell me i will try to solve it

    Thank you on this post, you fix a lot of problems.
    Do you have solution for other Samsung printers like CLP 315 and SCX 4623. I have them to and the same problem with them.

    I Purchased samsung ml 1640 printer its working fine.after printing 1500 pages i refilled tonner, after 500 pages its stop working. i asked dealer they said initial toner print only 2100 pages so i need to buy new toner.

    one of my friend searched net and he downgrade my firm ware to 1.15 06-14-2006.

    its printing very well but the toner status message not showing. he said its ml 1600 series firmware so its not showing.

    how can i get back printer message status.

    Despues de muchas recargas y cambios de toner por el de la 2010, no me permitia resetear el chip, "toner exhausted".

    I download this link and after running the files they changes my ver. 96 to 96f. but still the printer is not working. when i give command to print, the green light blinks only, how it work, please help me

    Dear friend,
    I have reset printer samsung 1640 printer two times with this software.One time it is reset easily with this software but second time i have to short pin 3 and 4 of IC as given in russian site than I reset with software successfully but now third time it doesn't work with all tactics. I contacted marketing manager of samsung printers he told me that resetter software works only one or two times you need to replace cartridge.
    so dear friend i seek your suggestion what should i do...?

    pls help me with my ml-1640 when i upgrade/downgrade the firmware I accidentally unplug the power when it still flashing the firmware. now when i turn on the printer it will just blink once, red and amber. can you please help me how to flash currupted bios.thanks.

    hello to all.
    i upgraded from firmware 1.29.00 75 06-25-2008
    to 1.29.0096f 09-07-2010
    and cartridge page count is now 1 from 2101. i'm glad it works.
    starter cartridge was refilled once and the nut replaced with a fuse 63mA (starter cartridge does not has chip).
    anyway, i made a mistake and upgraded with wrong firmware (for ML2240) and i had 2 red lights on unuseful printer detected as ML2240.
    reflashed again with the right firmware (for ML1640) and everything is ok.

    My printer firmware is on v96 and I am running Windows 7. I tried to flash using the v96 patch but when I run the bat file, although it appears to run, the screen stays at downloading...and when I hit any key nothing happens which is supposed to close the program. The printer does not get flashed. I purchased a generic toner a year ago and only now installing it...I suspect the firmware on the chip is not compatible with the printer firmware so I get an Invalid Toner message. Any suggestion to patch or flash my printer would be appreciated. Please email at iamcanadian_1969@yahoo.ca. Thx.

    First I didn't know what to do. So I simply started the .bat file and restarted the printer. Afterwards I could print again.
